So, be selective in what we can influence, but don't put effort into things we cannot win.

Take tariffs. I don't know that there is much the Democrats can do to stop them. Perhaps there are some administrative things they can do to slow it. But if it's a big fight, the same outcome is reached (tariffs and economic pain), but the story will be "Dems cripple economy".

I wonder if Dems shouldn't just give in to all but the most egregious things. Throwing out the rule book and opposing at all costs reinforces the narrative that "if it weren't for the Democrats, [awful thing that was slightly less awful b/c of opposition] would have made the country better"

Been better tbh. I've been worrying about the election outcome so much. My fears are realized, and the past few days have felt surreal?

But I did get to take a walk, and spend time with family. So I'll take a small win when I can get it.
