It’s like when you call your poodle ‘Fang’ or ‘Cerberus’ or ‘Cobra’ or something hysterically hyperbolic.

As an English teacher my students always pull me up if I, like, slip into slang bruv, innit. They have no chill.

🙁 Here, it’s like flitting past someone in a corridor & overhearing a fragment of a deeper discussion. Context, nuance & depth are not a thing in this form: it’s not possible to have a reasonable discussion with just a few sentences and in public. OK for brief connections maybe.🤷🏻♀️

Interesting perspective😊 Tricky to explain everything in such a short space but feel free to read through all my substack to see how I’m trying to make sense of the journey we are going through👍🏼

Nothing specific. Just more of all the things. I’m liking Claude but the free version doesn’t do web. And everyone says the paid Chat is way better. Just wondering about it all🧐

Great points. Do you think qualitative data should be part of any study as well? How could we explore impact on outcomes?

They don’t. In my place we have brought the essay back into school, under our supervision, so it’s 100% human authored. Simultaneously, we are learning to use AI in education for other things like being an accuracy checker, research partner, revision organiser, content tutor. Learn-ING. Adapting.

Exactly. Just need to get involved and try things out! We just did a survey where I teach. Pupils using AI = 97%. Teachers modifying HW = 36%. However, teachers using AI for planning etc = 88%. We’re getting there; change is hard for institutions, even small ones!
