Seems like if the performance fell below the minima over any similar sample size during the season, it may point to a player issue(pressing, pressure, etc). Would be very odd for the playoff performance to be the minimum for a season for that many players.

Joe Burrow isn’t Patrick Mahomes, or in the same class

2018 chiefs defense = 26.3 ppg allowed lost in OT in AFC title game, 2024 bengals defense = 25.5 ppg allowed no playoffs. It wasn’t just the defense

With all that has been made about penalties this week, I was wondering if teams go through the games for self scouting and point out what may have been missed penalty wise to use for teaching? All of these "analyses" on penalties called or not are wrong if every play isn't reviewed for correctness.

Weighted versus opponent?

Receiver separation on those throws?

The players get the play in at 25 seconds left and don't snap the ball until 6 seconds, surely the QB and offensive players should be getting a little more of the blame, no?

As far as I can tell, EPA isn't opponent weighted. Should you really have the same probability of scoring against the best defense compared to the worst from the same position on the field? Should the worst red zone offense really be expected to convert position to points as the best?

Good thing they got that extension done when they did
November 24, 2024 at 7:18 PM
Is there a weighted EPA based on opponents? Surely the expectation to score against the worst defense should be different than against the best?
