I remember, back in the day, you could buy a Seiko watch for £20. I honestly didn’t realise Seiko made watches that expensive. I’ve had a sheltered life!

Which will level the playing field apparently because, right now, the most expensive parts of the country could be paying less council tax than more deprived parts, and the values will be updated regularly. I was interested in how others do it.

Here in the UK we have council tax which is based on property prices which are divided up into bands and paid monthly. A big proportion of values haven’t been updated for years but, listening to a podcast recently, there’s a consultation going on to scrap it and replace it with a land value tax…
