I guess my issue is that call being nade against Mtl this year.

Maybe afterwards he’ll make a deal.

I think it could make some sense in that they could waive Mangiopani if they chose to. If Laine got hot, great , everyone wishes him well.
February 4, 2026 at 1:10 AM
Maybe not the contract unless it’s someone they can waive.

Do you really think it’s about fairness ? Or punishment ? Not so sure.
February 3, 2026 at 11:39 PM
Knies is a similar player but I don’t see why either team would pursue this. Both guys are integral to their teams.

I think MSL runs the bench ? Sometimes the d coach changes the D, but I think Martin does. He commented after a game how on occasion he plays matchups and realises that he’s messed up.
February 3, 2026 at 11:13 PM
True. You’d like to see at least 10 minutes.
February 3, 2026 at 10:39 PM
I wonder if they think the workload needs to be evened out ? If I had Hutson I’d look for every opportunity to get him extra shifts.

Contract length

All to say, I’m not sold, but I wouldn’t be angry if they got him either.

Watching last night , I thought of our talking about this a few days ago. Kap was looking like himself again. Finding openings , being available, being solid (other than 1 f up), and I wondered if he’s not the best fit ? You can’t just add skill, there’s only 1 puck.
February 3, 2026 at 7:52 PM
I think that whoever is acquired, be it a forward or RD will be bigger than Thomas and will arrive at puck battles in a nasty mood.
February 3, 2026 at 7:40 PM
I think they’d like Blais to play over the break. AHL isn’t pausing is it ?
February 3, 2026 at 7:19 PM
Isn’t that a Bogart line ? It was quiet, too quiet.
February 3, 2026 at 7:08 PM
I thought that was just one day.
February 3, 2026 at 7:06 PM
At least
February 3, 2026 at 6:23 PM
So I checked. Last 4 games he’s beenn8-13-7-5. So the closer the game, the less he plays. Is this rare throughout the league ?
February 3, 2026 at 4:12 PM
What has he been averaging ? 9-12 ? Minnesota feels like a coaching exercise where he’s looking to matchup 8/21, against a team with a loaded 1st line. 8 was playing Kaprizov like Provost would play Hull.

10 games ago I thought Kap was hitting a wall. It showed in his entire game. Last 3-4 games I feel like it’s back. Demi is different because he can stink and leave the building with 2 assists. All to say, if they believe in Kap and thinks it’s just experience, why make a move ?
February 3, 2026 at 3:25 PM
I see no reason why he wouldn’t be a 50 point guy over a season. Decent hands in tight, reads the play, and his give a crap level is starting to show. He doesn’t even resemble the player reaching and taking penalties last year. But health and consistency, who knows.

It all seems so performative. Fights come from emotion, or they used to. Now it’s usually entertainment.
February 2, 2026 at 10:28 PM
I’ll watch at times post game to see MSL’s comments. Maybe it’s age but I see no reason to watch them, HNIC, or radio post game. Saturday I thought I’d watch a bit of the late game so I saw about 10 minutes of Ron M and the panel. Why do that to yourself ?

That’s how I dress shopping at Farm Boy or Food Basics
February 2, 2026 at 1:56 PM
Nope. It’s that 1 step off the boards that isn’t there. Possible that’s it’s a core injury, but likely ? Guess we’ll know soon after the break.
