These types of threats are so common because police don’t take them seriously until it’s basically to late because they are just online threats not real ones.

I love how instead of responding to the rape threat, Caroline Criado-Perez reposted the comment on twitter for all of her followers to see. She had also called the police and messaged twitter but they hadn’t given her a solution, i’m guessing because it was just a “silly” threat not a real one.

Women shouldn’t be expected to deal with these kind of comments from people they don’t even know. Often these are empty threats but you never know for sure if you are actually in any danger. Responding is probably the worst thing you can do but ignoring threatening comments can be hard sometimes.

People view the internet as a safe space because you are hidden behind your screen and feel they can often say whatever they want. This is why men feel safe saying these things to women they do not even know online to make them scared.

Going back to an article from a couple of weeks ago, it mentioned how men were increasingly feeling lonelier. The article from this week is about how the declining marriage rates could be because of how many women are becoming more independent and aren’t solely looking for husbands in life

The article about the man leaving his wife and kid because she got cancer is so sad. He started to help out and was optimistic when the wife was first diagnosed. After 6 months he had given up on his family because of his wife’s health. Many tweets posted about families in similar situations :((

The China case goes along with men not valuing the work women do no matter if it’s housework for their husbands or a job making money.

I am surprised to read the article about how a man in China was taken to court because he owed his ex-wife money from her housework and labor over 7 years. The US has had a longer history of activism compared to China in cases like these but we have never had this.

I enjoyed reading “How men have no friends and women bear the burden.” The connection to Beauty and the Beast is a good example in this topic. The man is a beast until he finds his female to console him into a man. Again, if we were to think about how differently boys are raised and counteract it…

From young boys, they are taught to act “tough” and show little emotion in situations. These premature socializing actions influence how men can identify and express their emotions and needs later on in adult life. If boys were raised in social situations like girls were, they would probably “talk

Many video games glamorize violence, rape, crime, etc. These popular games are feeding into these real problems in society can create a sense of playfulness in serious situations. Violence, rape, crime, etc, isn’t always a game and can affect real people.

The textbook talks about how women are and used to be expected to blindly obey the head of the house (man or husband) despite if they actually wanted to or agreed with what they were doing. On the other side, men were working up to be the head of the house because that is what was expected of them.

I can’t believe I never knew that cheerleading was originally a mostly masculine and male dominated sport. That surprised me because I feel like modern day cheer has more “more feminine” moves than regular dancing would.

I also learned how normal it is for both men and women to “dress themselves up” or do their hair and make up more often to feel like the best version of themselves and it’s not just seen as a feminine thing.

I personally don’t listen to much K-pop but I’ve had at least 5 friends since high school that were obsessed and still I never really knew that many Korean artist often use gender presentation to be more transgressive and not just expressive.

I’ve honestly always hated how the most popular teen shows are the ones where mostly girls but all genders in high school are overly sexualized. It’s really weird to view high schoolers like that, especially because it puts the idea that most girls are hyper sexual into thgeneral public girls minds

Anglerfish are terrifying but it was interesting to read about the sex differences between lions, birds, moose, fish, etc. Also I saw a video about how the male angler fish are typically smaller and are just like a parasite to the female angler fish. These female can also carry multiple mates

I wonder if a man were to have a brain transplant, if that were possible, and receive a woman’s brain if there would be any behavioral difference and whose personality would be “in charge”
February 10, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Since we know that there isn’t much a of difference in male and female brains, maybe the cause of the differences we may notice between the two is due to environmental factors more than genetic factors.

It’s interesting that Nature VS nurture is really just nature AND nurture building off of each other thought your life. The insight on twins helps explain just how important environmental factors are to shape one’s life.

I do find it weird that Coontz said it was normal for women to be so affectionate with each other that without people thinking they are homosexual. Then around the 20th century it became more normal for sexuality to be considered as a big part of people’s identity

“female husbands” and “mexicos third gender” both made me realize that we haven’t always had a strict binary gender system despite popular belief. I thought this was a newer thing, but it’s just becoming more known in society.

Nobody WANTS to openly sob in public it’s just more acceptable for women also because they are “so emotional” they can’t help themselves but men can “control” their emotions and can’t cry. But really no one genders crying in these situations it happens to everyone

I’ve also found it pretty interesting how false memories can be created and you just blindly follow them. What is even real anymore 😳

Ever since probably around middle school I’ve always wondered why in cartoons and drawings men typically aren’t shown to have eyelashes though in real life I know some men with the prettiest eyelashes i’ve seen😭 But why is that considered a feminine trait…
