Breaking News: Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law requiring companies that are big fossil fuel polluters to help pay to repair damage caused by extreme weather.
Hochul Signs Law That Penalizes Companies for Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The measure will seek to raise funds to pay for some of the damage caused by extreme weather events, which are becoming more frequent because of the combustion of fossil fuels.

I think it is unlikely any of the nominees for cabinet and other official positions in the next admin will actually go thru background checks. Perhaps Joe Biden should order checks now in his official capacity as President. 🤔
