i think the reason i'm harsh on this is just primarily that it's a regression. everyone wants to deflect by saying "well isn't it cool!" but if the best version of atproto is the roblox of social media then we need to contend that it's not what they said it'd be and and it's also not very good at it
i need folk to realize that a year ago posting this image in earnest would have been extremely appropriate and discourse and sentiment reflected that this would even be possible. since then essentially everything other than self hosting pds and toy app views have been given up on
this image is still what you get when you look up atproto on wikipedia btw

i frankly dont see how you can see the state of third party appviews as anything but a total failure for atproto as a protocol
