As a kid, Adams was my favorite. As I’ve grown older, Aparo has become that. He could do things on the page Adams didn’t. Such a phenomenal storyteller.

Having read the DC Finest Peacemaker volume, even with the Charlton issues being not great, they at least had an interesting premise and were better than most output from Charlton at the time.

It’s what lead me to buy the Beetle book hoping it would be at least interesting. Oops.

I wouldn’t mind the formulaic writing if it wasn’t so disinterested.

And I recognize that most of the staff of Charlton at that time was either on the way up or down, and then there was Ditko.

Speaking of Aparo, his artwork on the Spectre was almost perfect for the scripts by Fleisher.

It’s kind of a slog to get through, to be honest. I am far more interested in the Ditko revamp.

I guess it would be more palatable if the art were more than just serviceable. It does little to raise or lower the narrative.
