It's kind of wild how almost every faction combat mechanic rewards focus fire in EL2. I think the only one that doesn't is the aspects outside of focus fire being generally good.

Turn based tactic developers, I know its very tempting to do this but ranged units being effective against flying units doesn't mean anything if the flyers can get into melee and kill them anyway.
