I have enjoyed the occasional VR game (I have a Vive), and what generally gets me to stop playing for long stretches is the fact that it's a pain in the ass to set up, uncomfortable to wear, and just looks so much worse than a normal screen.

That's not a bad suggestion. I've been trying things like soulash 2 and ToME, and while they definitely aren't Qud, I've been digging those.

Honestly, I hated it at first. When I was new to the game, I went through and created my own deck controls that worked pretty nicely.
At some point they got nuked and I didn't feel like going through the hassle again, so I just learned the default.
They are actually pretty great lol
