Having wasted my time trying to understand these people, most of the time it's not ignorance but cynicism preventing their radicalization. They don't believe in an alternative besides electoralism so they bury their heads in the sand about it clearly not working because it's better than nihilism.

Making up excuses for this regression IS liberalism. "We just elected the wrong people..." "the younger generation just doesn't know how good they have it" and other excuses given by former socialist countries who have liberalized are examples of these anti-materialist excuses.

As a communist I would be fine with "socialism" (the nordic model) if it didn't require imperialism and didn't constantly back-slide into liberalism. The control needs to be in the hands of the workers to stop this back-sliding and to free the world from imperialism, it's that simple.
