as a Norwegian I feel obligated to point out that even the vikings looked outside Europe plenty and therefore it's even more ridiculous to fixate on just the North stuff like a lot of people do for some reason

Never seen it before either so I got curious and did a little digging! According to one source it was from their 3rd last photo session, photo by Bruce McBroom, London 9th of April 1969, taking a short trip down the Thames on the Fritz Otto Maria Anna (aka "the Fritz") 📸

one of my favourite quotes to illustrate how much our perception of robots/AI has subtly changed is from The Ship Who Sang (1969), a story about a ship run by an embedded human brain instead of an AI, a system used because, well... I had to fully pause reading the first time to absorb.
