Over the past two weeks, our lab had a lot to celebrate!

We kicked off the new academic year with a team building day, reflecting on our goals, welcoming new team members, and working together in an escape room challenge.

Of course, we couldn't resist capturing the moment with a team photo! 📸

Every strong team needs time to pause, reset, and grow together. #TeamRetreat #DientenAmHochkönig

Ski lift: A line of orange ski lift chairs stretching up a green slope surrounded by dense forest to get up the mountain. Hiking trail: The CCL team hiking down a narrow trail across a sunlit mountain slope with autumn-colored vegetation. Mountain view: A wide view of mountain peaks and ridges around Dienten am Hochkönig in Salzburg, with low-hanging clouds drifting between the valleys under a blue sky.

Had a wonderful time at IDS 2025 in Leuven this week! 🌟
Joined as author (AI: Rethink, Regulate, Reimagine), presenter (poster on China’s information literacy MOOCs with Leen), and volunteer. Also glad to meet REMEDIS teammates offline and celebrate the Toolkit. Tired but very happy! 🥰

Attending the #IAMCR2025 conference was an inspiring professional experience. I had the chance to share insights from youth in the Chiquitania region of Bolivia.

We highlighted the urgency of addressing violence against women and children, and the environmental care that sustains rural families.

New publication! We validated the Dutch version of the Gaming Disorder Scale for Adolescents (GADIS-A), a reliable and valid tool for assessing gaming disorder in adolescents. It was also linked to the increasingly blurring lines between gaming and gambling: psychologicabelgica.com/articles/10....

Here, we presented our cross-sectional and longitudinal data, arguing that adolescents often interact with so-called gambling-like elements in the video gaming ecosystem, and that these elements could impact their (problematic) gaming and gambling behavior.
