A journalist to my core; a news junkie in retirement. Immersed in the arts. Detroit Lions/Tigers fan.
Where does @nbcnews.com draw the line? The @todayshow.com anchors are practically rolling their eyes as they constantly promote Wicked for Good by sister company Universal Pictures. And now @kristenwelker.bsky.social is interviewing director Jonathon Chu tomorrow on @meetthepress.com. REALLY?!?

The government works in insidious ways. For decades the League of Women Voters - the most nonpartisan group on the planet - has offered voter registration to new citizens at naturalization ceremonies. Now the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) bars that.

Just saw this on an NYC hotel website that is charging $600+ a night:
"Our hotel collects a fee of $35.00 USD plus tax per night to provide an in-room Nespresso Coffee Bar and Tea experience. In addition, two bottled waters are provided each day."
Apparently I'm not their target demographic.

It may be smoky from the Canadian wildfires tonight, but the vibe at Empire beach is Pure Michigan.

Man, when you see all the posts in tribute to Ozzy Osborne - ranging from Elton John to Pat Boone and Donny Osmond (!!) - you know the guy must have been something special.

RIP Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore's observation platform. It succumbed to the winds of Mother Nature, which eroded the sand supporting its pillars. Had I known last summer's trek to the dune outlook on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive would be my last, I would have savored the moment even more.

Watch "Conclave" if you want to see a fascinating depiction of how the next Pope is chosen. I hope the cardinals pick one who follows in Francis' footsteps of kindness and humility, yet a steeliness when it comes to advocating for the poor and disadvantaged. #vatican

Watching #MikeTirico handle hosting duties on the @todayshow.com this week: The man can smooth over any awkward moment and keep things moving with aplomb. Total pro, even when out of his element.

Apparently white socks are back for men. Jay Ellis yesterday and Patrick Schwarzenegger today both sported white socks on Jenna & Friends. My Depression-era dad wore white socks everyday, but he never looked quite this stylish.

Fourth text from Jocelyn Benson today. Probably not the best strategy for gaining support.

I keep hearing rave reviews for Bad Monkey and Slow Horses, both on Apple TV. Which should I watch first?
