In 2018, I funded my own short. I ended up losing everything from both a corrupted disk drive, and the backup. I didn't have another and it cost me a lot. I'm honestly still not over it. It scarred my soul. However, if I shot it myself, I would have spent little. Lessons learned.

Not to toot my own horn too much but I’m rewatching my entire 2025 (which I never do) and I have a lot of good stuff! I am very proud of my output this year!

Left-Handed Girl by Shih-Ching Tsou
This was one of the best films I saw this year. Great slice of life with a well done reveal toward the end that reshapes the film. The little girl is the cutest. The performance and the IPhone photography were raw and incredible. Sean Baker’s editing was nice!

Materialists by Celina Song. Never watched a rom-com where I resonate with the dude and felt seen. The concept of being broke and unable to date both in affordability and just general confidence mixed in with age and feeling like a fucking failure in society is NEVER touched upon.

Die My Love was raw. I love performances that take specific emotions as far one can and then topple over. This was my favorite Jennifer Lawrence performance I’ve seen. This was honest, playful, and quite bleak. It was real. The photography was the best you’ll see. Period.

A huge chunk of why I was ever attracted to pro wrestling was the fashion. This outfit from Mercedes Mone is one of my favorites of hers.

Reminder to myself that the one big TJPW project I wanted to do this year was a history of Neo Biishiki-Gun set to my favorite classical pieces and I have two months to deliver that. I’ll set aside Rika Tatsumi set to Fromsoftware dragon themes but still want to do Maho Kurone set to Pans Labyrinth.
