Probably dancing on a pole (or floor) somewhere
Also side note, we have some of the best people at the studio (students and instructors) and I couldn't ask for a better community to be surrounded by 🥹🫶

Just like learning to flow, slowing down and milking the moment can imbue power and grace. This is why one of my goals in 2025 is to embrace the struggle a little bit more to regain my power and move with grace (inspired by lovely words shared last weekend) 🩷 After all, progress not perfection ✨

Some reminders I have found helpful for myself that I wanted to share:
✨ Progress takes time (a lot btw)
✨ Goals are not deadlines to be met
✨ Time flies when you're having fun, so by embracing the fun you'll achieve those goals in no time

While neither video is "perfect", progress has been made and who is to say I'm not "where I should be"?

Recently I have been questioning the growth in my pole journey. Looking back at old videos has been a gentle reminder that while I feel like I'm "falling behind" or "not progressing fast enough" the reality is I am still improving on many things in many ways.

The first video is from a little over a month into my pole journey and the second is from a couple weeks ago (~6 month difference).

I had found that movement expression I had longed for and I felt a new part of me awaken (cue theme to Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

All of this to say, this account is going to be my electronic pole journal to document all the ups, the downs, and the goofy. Join me on my journey to Fly Higher 💜

I've never been a dancer, but I love to dance and watch people dance, so pole has always appealed to me. Pole dance is incredibly hard, but through the challenge I found grace, fluidity, and expression like I've never felt before.

I wanted movement and something that fueled my soul, but I didn't know what that looked like. Eventually I saw an ad for the studio, signed up for a trial period, and the rest is history.

I started pole dancing in June 2024 at Altius Pole Studio in Bend, OR. I had been lifting weights for about a year in Texas and when we made the move to Oregon in May 2024 it didn't feel right in my body to be stuck inside a gym.
