A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - GRRM's prequel novellas are so much fucking fun. lighter and lower to the ground than the main ASOIAF series, these feel a lot like Martin flexing muscles he wouldn't doesn't. Dunk is developed well, even if he's never as realised as Tyrion or Daenerys. Great read.

Mindhunter, the book - kinda disappointed in this one ngl - expected more of a history than a series of case studies, its a brisk tour through a bunch of serial killers and violent crimes but theres (ironically) not a lot of self-interrogation. Okay read but not anything I'll come back to.

Penda's Fen - 1974 TV movie, fascinating meditation on queerness, pre-modern English history and the pastoral. Excellent stuff, kind of thing we just dont really get on tv nowadays

It's a little more 'fire and brimstone' than cthulhu but Arkham Asylum: Living Hell did establish that there's a fucked up hell portal inside Arkham that's implied to drive people crazy.
There's also The Doom that Came to Gotham, which is explicitly a Lovecraft homage.

Everything Is Permitted: On Assassin's Creed: really interesting dive into a series I've never really thought about deeply. The chapters on how the series uses history and the morality of playing as the enemy in AC3 and Rogue were eye-opening into stuff I've never really thought about.

Emily Wilson's Odyssey translation - more blunt and less poetic than previous translations, this version actually feels like something someone could speak aloud for hours which is nice. A good read, if dry in spots

The Outlaws (2017): It's like two hours of Ma-Dong Seok beating the shit out of people and doesn't try to be much more. Fuck yeah.
