M'haminn's mom is alive and very supportive of M'haminn's journey and she loves hearing back from M'haminn when she decides to write, and her dad was last seen fighting to help her and her mother flee Ala Mhigo during the Imperial invasion. At this point he is assumed dead by everyone who knew him.
