Eurasian tree sparrow (_Passer montanus_). Watercolour on paper-backed silk, 106 × 116 mm.

This piece from 2023 was the first time I finally tried painting on silk. I'll repost an old XTwitter thread on the process later. The bird's proportions bother me slightly now, but hey ho.

After two pub quizzes, a Christmas Doctor Who episode, two Call the Midwife Christmas episodes, a Wallace & Gromit film and one confusing Gavin & Stacey finale (never watched any of the rest), I feel somewhat replenished and can return to France now.
