I just finished reading The Night Guest by @hildur.bsky.social and I had an incredible time! Desperately wanted to find out what was happening to Iðunn. Fast & compelling. The point of view (maybe? the style?) reminded me a bit of Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead - in the best way!

Here is my lemon pig for this year:
A nice little pig made from a lemon. His ears are V-shaped slits in the lemon, his eyes are whole cloves, and his legs are toothpicks. He holds a shiny penny in his mouth for good luck.

At 6:30am, our 10yo alerted us that our half-dead water heater was spewing hot water from where it should not be. Many hundreds of dollars later, we now have a new, functioning water heater and have clarified that the house being flooded is a situation where you fetch your parents immediately

I made my daughter a birthday crown once!

I’m halfway through reading H.A.’s The Chromatic Fantasy and it is such a visual delight. An absolutely maximalist graphic novel - there’s gold foil on the cover, gold page edges, ornate chapter headings, borders, pattern, not to mention the use of color! 💖

Yesterday we discovered a 2T-sized sweatshirt of Thora’s (pictured below) that was hidden behind/under a dresser drawer, inside the dresser. I always wondered where it went! She only wore it a couple of times before it disappeared.

My brain is too full. I wish I could save brain things to SD cards that I could then swap out as needed - I would like to eject the Work Tasks card until tomorrow, and then I will need the House Tasks card on Friday. It can’t all live in my brain there is no room
