Absolutely wild that there are folks out there (on this site, even) that, in the midst of this otherworldly shit show we're all experiencing, are still trying to justify not voting for Kamala because she campaigned with Liz Cheney.
Judge evaluating defendant to see if he’s competent to represent himself:

Judge: Do you have any experience in the legal field?

Defendant: Just getting charged with stuff.

🤣🤣🤣

E-mail ping (that I was hoping was the University canceling afternoon classes) was from 10:10 professor confirming class being canceled and providing her plan going forward so that we don't fall behind.

...some of them are just a lot better at this than others, huh? 🤣

University canceled morning classes tomorrow due to weather.

1:00 professor sends out an e-mail that her class is NOT canceled unless we "here" otherwise.

FFS.

Put down the wine.
Step away from the computer.

Not me sending an e-mail to find out if the nominations for the Outstanding Teaching Award are published publicly anywhere to help me decide just how much I can shame my classmates in the narrative.

Scalia, arguing in support of the death penalty for minors

Because I do not believe that the meaning of our 8th Amendment, any more than the meaning of other provisions of our Constitution, should be determined by the subjective views of 5 members of this Court and like-minded foreigners, I dissent

Looking forward to my very first Constitutional Law class in about 8 hours.

Just saw someone on Reddit say their Con Law professor described teaching the subject in the current environment like teaching ship building on the Titanic while the boiler room filled with water.

I felt that.

English Courts: It IS a crime to TURN YOUR SHIPMATE INTO FOOD even if you're starving

American Courts: The proper procedure is to draw straws to see who becomes food

Amber Glenn.
The woman that you are.
Congratulations 3x National Champion.

What an Olympics it's going to be.

Also, first semester grades were WAY better than expected.

Still not entirely convinced that Torts prof didn't make a huge mistake.

But we're back at it, nonetheless. 🎉

D.C.'s Jury Instructions: Reasonable doubt, as the name implies, is a doubt based on reason, a doubt for which you can give a reason.

I love the law, y'all. 😂

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

"The term 'necessary' in the clause does not mean absolutely indispensable but rather convenient or useful."

I haven't even started my Constitutional Law class yet and I've already had more than enough of Chief Justice John Marshall.

It's absolute lunacy that we just accept this "interpretation."

Guy on TikTok trying to offer reassurance to 1Ls waiting on grades...

"I once got TWO C minuses and it didn't matter.
Well... I don't have a job, but..."

Sir. 🤣☠️

I'm not necessarily looking for a job in the legal field, so I find this hilarious. Most of my fellow students, however, would not.

I have literal false memories of my Civil Procedure professor teaching service of process

He said, during the review, that we didn't cover that and...
... I DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM

However, I have no notes on it
[I even checked the syllabus]

Civil Procedure outline is a thing of great beauty

Practically wrote itself b/c my notes were so good...because the course was TAUGHT so well

Also, finally figured out that "bifurcation" is Georgetown for "circuit split" and that makes a lot more sense now

Rule 42(b) need not apply to Rule 11 🤦‍♀️

I could do without extremely random acts of Joinder in my Torts review.

I like ‘B,’ though. 😂

I don’t know why I thought Class Actions would be straight forward.

I’ve been wrong a lot lately. 🤣

[If it gets highlighted it goes in the reading notes.]

Respectfully, I don’t have time for this right now.

Torts final is a week from today.
THEN we can Civil Procedure. 😂
