Book 25 of 2025
𝘈𝘯 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘦 by Tayari Jones
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A powerful meditation on marriage in America, with a cast of characters that are complexly human, and the use of shifting perspectives forces readers to never get too comfortable in picking a side.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A vitally important book that confirms public knowledge about Facebook’s questionable policies and adds new details on the sheer level of carelessness behind it.

𝘝𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘥 by Tim Curry
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A delightful read that has only reinforced my love for Curry as a performer; highly recommended for any and all fans of Curry, no matter what role brought you to him in the first place.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 by Amy Tan
⭐️: 2/5
Read: March 2021
Review: A very well-researched and sweeping historical tale of turn of the century Shanghai, but the overwhelming amount of details distracted from my ability to invest in the interpersonal drama and relationships.

Book 22 of 2025
𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘺 by Stephen King
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a full novel 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳 is still stronger and as a character Holly works better as a secondary-supporting or main character in a shorter narrative (like in 𝘐𝘧 𝘐𝘵 𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴), but I can’t say I wasn’t heavily invested throughout reading.

Book 21 of 2025
𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 by Geraldine Brooks
⭐️⭐️
While I loved the execution and concept of tracing the lived history of the Haggadah manuscript through the artifacts left behind, the continued focus on the character of Hanna left me feeling disconnected and frustrated.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘺 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘗𝘪𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows

Review: Engaging characters, told entirely through letters, that blend quirk with the weight of history; I wish I could remain with them on Guernsey indefinitely.

Book 20 of 2025
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴 by Liz Moore
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book had me hooked from the very first pages; Moore was able to create a multi-layered mystery that never felt too unwieldy or illogical, while also balancing a large cast of characters that all felt real and distinct.

Book 19 of 2025
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 by Catherine Banner
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just like Amedeo, once I arrived on the island of Castellamare I would have happily stayed put for years; Banner’s writing conveys a community that feels both dreamlike and solidly real, timely, and timeless.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 by Tommy Orange
⭐️: 4/5
Read: October 2021
Review: A story of a distinctly American place and a community told through a series of individual character vignettes, that raises questions and observations about identity, family, and cultural heritage.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 by Nicole Krauss
⭐️: 5/5
Read: April 2009
Review: Beautiful, tragic, and impossible to forget, this is a novel that contains multitudes and presents a new exploration of the legacy of loss and tragedy on generations removed by age and physical distance.

Book 18 of 2025
𝘞𝘦𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 by Emilia Hart
⭐️⭐️⭐️
While I found Violet’s story to be more emotionally and narratively vivid, I appreciated the way the novel explored both the ways that women have suffered and gained agency and power to overcome these throughout the centuries.

Book 17 of 2025
𝘞𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 (𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 4) by Stephen King
⭐️⭐️
While I’m sure there are important moments in Roland's story, it was too repetitive, overly detailed, and tonally different from the story I otherwise enjoyed in the pages surrounding this extended flashback.

Book 16 of 2025
𝘕𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘐𝘴 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘦 by Lisa Jewell
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: The structure, the premise, the slow burn revelations, this is a thriller that feels fantastical, uncomfortably realistic, and requires readers to keep the novel’s title in mind long after they finish.

𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘖𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘐𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘦 by Gail Honeyman
⭐️: 5/5
Read: August 2023
Review: Honeyman has created a protagonist who is so believable in her extremes and captures in raw detail what a long-term trauma response can look like, both internally and externally.

Book 15 of 2025
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 by Robert Venditti
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: A solid quick read graphic novel with an eerily timely concept that blends sci-fi and noir detective drama, but that prioritizes historical world building over character development.

Book 14 of 2025
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘝𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵 by Beatriz Williams
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: Violet’s story is the stronger of the dual narratives due to the rich world and cast of characters surrounding her, topped off by the dynamic setting of pre-WWI Europe.

⭐️: 3/5

Book 13 of 2025
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘬 by “Richard Bachman” (Stephen King)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: The concept of “The Long Walk” as a contest is eerily realistic and presented with unflinching realism and no reprieve for Walkers and readers alike; an underrated piece of modern dystopian fiction.
