Found the arrest, a bench warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge. Also found the dozens of other charges for, among other things, theft, fraud, forgery, and fleeing a pursuing law enforcement officer.

I told Favorite Mechanic I'm astounded at how much time I spend figuring bonkers stuff like this since I moved here and he just laughed and said, "Seems pretty normal to me."

Weird Little Old Man Friend failed to mention that his license was suspended, so I'm taking highway patrol's report that he's "safe and in safe surroundings" to mean I should keep trying to get through to booking at the county jail.
