Does "wartime reforms" mean "Southern senators weren't around to stop it any more"?

You don't have to let them by immediately electing them to the U.S. senate. Platner could spend some time campaigning for a local or state office, or volunteering with a nonprofit that battles antisemitism, so that next time he'll have an actual record
of not passively endorsing Nazism.

Many protest organizers have trained de-escalators on hand to deal with people who are disruptive- whether because they're trying to bait people, are having a bad trip/ psychotic break/ whatever. Look for them.

20% of the US population ages 18-24 is overweight or obese. Good luck meeting your recruiting quotas, Pete.

I suspect there's a genetic issue here - as there is for people who taste soap when they eat cilantro, or a nasty bitter undertaste in stevia. We do not all live in the same perceptual wold.

I once made an all-butter-crust pie out of apples I'd picked that day (Cortlands and Macintosh, I think.) It was one of the most splendid things I've ever eaten.

My grandmother also used to talk about "second summer" illness - when toddlers in Kansas ca. 1900 would die of diarrheal illnesses because they were drinking water, not getting all their liquid from breast milk. Great grandma boiled her water, and all her kids survived to adulthood.

FYI there were several cases of US Revolutionary war soldiers discovered to have XX genitalia when they got sick or injured. Deborah Sampson/Robert Shirtliff was one of the more famous ones.

Pad thai is just a stir fry with noodles. If you don't want to spend time chopping veggies, you can buy stir fry mix at the supermarket and still save time and money over ordering out - not as much as if you started with whole veggies, but it still works out.
