But no Christmas market. It was excellent having the market at Slessor, and quite half-hearted shoving into into the city square. The council was charging the vendors way too much which made it inaccessible for a lot of local bakers and crafters. Council was too greedy and that’s what doomed it.

I didn’t know the name had spread beyond Scotland (even here it’s rather rare). There is a variant of ‘Sproule’, but that’s less common.
