It was around the IR deportations that I was complaining about this issue to a well-connected monarchist. They turned around and said it was one good thing they appreciated about IR. Since then I became suspicious that some monarchists may want to continue IR antics, but under their name.

One shock doctrine that I think the article alludes to but doesn’t get into is the deportation of over 1 million Afghan refugees after the 12-day war.
Many of them are day-laborers and working class - and all the sudden they’re gone. What would that do to the economy?

Wow, a somber yet accurate analysis on the protests. There are no good options when the working class, ethnic minorities, and refugees have been ignored by the left for so long.

There's a sizable monarchist faction, divided between those who are true believers and those who think they're the best path to topple islamic republic.
