They're doing all this stuff to protect themselves from collapse and live forever in luxury bunkers with AI servants and bloodbag youths or whatever, but causing the very collapse they're so afraid of. And they'll be tired of their freezedried Soylent and run out of shit to microdose quick.

Also, like, why would you want to remind an editor that they rejected you? If they remember your name but can't quite place you, don't tie your name to a rejection VIA a rude/horrifically uncomfortable moment - they'll definitely remember that forever.
