I genuinely love the game. It’s got some serious flaws, the story and characters are paper thin, but the Magic system is super interesting and unlike anything else I’ve seen, and I think the world was a really good quasi open world for an era before that was really possible.

Funnily enough, I finished Final Fantasy 13 for the first time this year and it’s exactly my 10th on my ranking for the year.

As a 90’s kid in the US Nintendo Power felt like magic. It was a connection to more games then I could get my hands on, and the game previews felt like getting glimpses of the future. I had these two mini-guides for Pokémon red/blue that I memorized before I was able to get a copy of the game.

Pixel Ripped 1995 is one of my favorite VR games with a PSVR 2 version. You play a kid trying to play video games, sometimes when you’re not supposed to, so you need to watch the TV (in game) to play, while also keeping track of things outside of the TV to make sure you don’t get in trouble.

I will die and retry over and over again if I don’t feel like the game is wasting my time, which is unfortunately a very nebulous feeling that can be hard to nail down. Elden ring’s checkpointing didn’t feel like that I could retry the hard part without repeating things I felt I had already mastered
