This is why I've stopped reading dystopian fantasy. Real life is far too dystopian these days. Honestly, a good editor would cut half the BS happening in the US because it's too chaotic for a believable story world.

Ex publisher here. Most of us want to publish the books we love and authors we like working with, but the business no longer allows us to. I ran a press trying to do that. I published authors who were good but not savvy on social, and I lost my shirt. So now I publish zero authors.

Canadian here: it's all a little too terrifying to laugh. Many of your neighbours to the North are watching in frustration, wondering when you are going to hit the tipping point down there and do something to end this disturbing chapter.
