Whether you believe in climate change or not, your insurance company does

Just as floods in Lismore make home insurance in Sydney cost more. Fires in LA make Australian insurance more expensive too

The more coal &gas we export the more global warming we cause and the more our insurance will cost
"Insurance premiums have risen 14% in Australia, and that's at a time of record increases in climate damage.

"The more fossil fuels we burn, the more expensive our insurance will become."

He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.

Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

Sadly not just happening in the UK. This is also happening in other large cities in North America and includes those folx who are trying to make it happen.
www.theguardian.com/society/2024... A scandal, but caused by selling and not replacing council housing and effectively stopping building social and affordable homes, these extremes arise because there is almost nowhere affordable to house people within London’s insanely overheated housing markets.
English councils pay millions to move homeless families out of big cities
Guardian analysis reveals families often given little notice to relocate to already deprived communities far away with no extra support

Each year, Dec 21–the Winter Solstice—also marks Homeless Day of Remembrance, honoring those who died while experiencing homelessness.

Because we don’t all keep records of this, our best estimates are that between 15 and 45 thousand unhoused people die each year.

This approach has led to a revolving door of prison, parole violations, and overdose. We can't keep doing the same things over and over expecting a different result

This is the first thing I've written since moving to Bluesky that has gotten a loy of traction. It reallyshows how much of Twitter's engagement is actually entirely fake.

Also shows just how sad so manyof us are about the state of things.
