Nice!

Nitpick: The purpose of the rocket button is far from obvious. You have plenty of room for a "BUILD" label.

It's people like me who give functional programming a bad name

God this is awful

I also got my Soulframe code. I have no intention of playing it yet. I don't have time for it.

So, anyway, I installed and started the game just to make sure it would run on Linux. After 30 seconds I was hooked. It's going to take some discipline to put that game back on the pile now.

Goddamn.

Running forums is emotionally draining. There's always going to be drama, fights, politics, trolls, bots, etc.

I think I initially played Quake in 320x200. Not much room for details or VFX there.

(It's funny how I could play Quake 8h/day on 30 fps when I was young. If I play a first person game on 30 fps now I get motion sickness and want to puke after 15 minutes.)

Maybe there is some hope for my rig after all. Though, given that there seems to be a button timing aspect to the combat (blocking), I don't know how low frame rate that I can accept.

How's the performance? I haven't bought it because I suspect that my RTX 2080 won't be able to handle it at 1440. Maybe I'll save it for my next computer.

I used to play a lot of turn-based JRPGs. They can be super fun when the combat system is good. Though most of them are too dumbed-down.

I need to capture two Eidolons to unlock my last focus waybounds. After that I'm never touching them again. I hate them.

I maxed all their arcanes in the February event. That opened up a lot of new builds for me.

I had never heard of Clair Obscur (I don't read much gaming news).

I'm watching some early access play on Twitch right now. Looks like something I would enjoy.

Warframe is in such a good shape right now. I've never had as much fun with it as I do right now.

And it's much more solo friendly than it was back when I first played it in 2017. Only things I don't touch now is EDA/ETA (though I probably could some weeks) and that's fine.

If we don't count buying slots, catalysts, reactors, adapters and boosters then I haven't taken any shortcuts either. :)

Well, many years ago, when Eidolons were the endgame, I bought a maxed Arcane Energize, which I guess is a pay-to-win.

I don't understand how anyone can f2p Warframe unless they play it like it's their job. I wonder how much I've spent on just weapon/warframe/riven slots, catalysts, reactors, exilus adapters, forma and boosters. If I had to farm and trade for all that plat, I would've quit the game a long time ago.
April 23, 2025 at 5:54 PM
I buy plat all the time. If I don't have a 70% coupon then I buy the Prime Access. I'm sitting on over 5000 right now that I swiped for.

DE has dialed it down now, but it used to feel like they were tricking new players into buying things with plat instead of telling them how to grind for them.

As Warframe players, I don't know if we're allowed to make fun of things like this.
April 23, 2025 at 3:27 PM
I have similar experience from mentoring. As a consequence, I myself don't like to ask "how did you do that?" if I can avoid it. I want to at least try to figure it out partially myself, and then ask if my guess is on the right track.
April 23, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Ah, yes, of course. You have INDEX in the particle shader which you can use in start() to index into the textures of positions and normals.
April 21, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Wait, are you saying that this is using GPUParticles3D?
April 21, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Is this a spin-off of your explosions? Similar technique but turning triangles into bubbles, and maybe mixing the normal with an attractor vector for the velocity?

It used to be that us Swedes often used Swedish idioms in English without realizing it. But now we're so good at English that I think it's more common for us to use English idioms in Swedish instead.

But yeah, it's still fun to say "there's no cow on the ice" just to confuse non-Swedes.
April 13, 2025 at 10:22 AM
"A lot rained since then." That's not an expression in English. Did you just translate ha llovido mucho desde entonces?
