CNN: “An older couple making $85K/year will see their yearly insurance premiums jump from $7K to $25,000 — 30% of their income.” 😳#TrumpShutdown #TrumpHealthCareTax

This is what Dems are drawing attention to and want fixed. Now, not later.

Maybe someone noticed my joy over my little pumpkins that I got in Seattle, but they gave me a big brother for the little guys. A candy cane pumpkin and here he is and with his siblings.

The committee treats their guests so well. In addition to a room where we would make a sandwich, get a drink, and decompress for a few minutes, they also gave us lovely gifts. Here is mine.

I'm digging out from my trip to St. Louis, and remembering all the wonderful people & panels, and the new friends I made at Archon and the old friends I got to catch up with.

Let's just say this film hits very different now.

Hmmm; rewatching Barbie in the era of Trump with Hegseth firing or demoting every woman in the armed services, companies nervous to hire or promote women out of fear they will be accused of being woke, the loss of body autonomy, the rise of the Trad Wife nonsense...

I made new friends, Dennis Chan & Alyssa Winans, both fabulous artists & I really hope they com to visit so I can take them walking on Canyon Road & to Meow Wolf.

I head home tomorrow morning, and I can't wait to hug my kitties and go see my horses.

Archon was great. Such a lovely convention, fun, kind people, great con committee who made sure everyone from guests to fans had a fabulous time. Panels were interesting & well attended.
Bought gaming dice with Cthulhu inside. (May they be talismans to help my writing partner & I sell our movie).

Really wish there was a permanent edit button on Bluesky and on Threads.

I don't know how this country survives 3 more years of this regime. For the love of anything you hold holy -- protect your black, brown, gay, trans, Jewish, Muslim neighbors against this horror.

And Vote while you still can

Masked goons rappel in & terrorize families in their beds in Chicago. Children are zipped tied and left in the street screaming for their parents. A young man is lynched in Mississippi and the authorities try to call it a suicide until a second autopsy reveals it was murder.

That would have been rather awesome! Think of the potential horror film moments as our intrepid fans investigate.

and they had to gently point out that there aren't six floors in this hotel. Doh! Convention gets rolling at noon, but until then I'm going to try to write a little.

Made it to St. Louis last night. Delayed flight because of a bad tire that had to be replaced, but I'm here as the GoH at Archon, a truly wonderful science fiction convention. The con committee is lovely, the hotel staff is great. I gave them a laugh this morning when I transposed my room number 1/2

“One of the saddest lessons of history: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle…

It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken…

Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back."

Dear god, how long is the demented orange one going to continue babbling at the generals who are trapped in a room with him?

Got another Democratic survey request. Here's my response to your damn survey. For the love of all the gods, stand up against Trump. If Schumer and Jeffries fold in this budget fight I swear I am ready to change my registration to Independent.

You can pretty much know what Trump is up to from the things he rails against.

I hope not, but some days my optimism is at low ebb.

As has often been the case in these dark days it will be up to the court to check a wanna be dictator as he seeks to settle scores and silence all dissent.

I made a satiric remark when the possible indictment of Jim Comey had not yet become a reality. I had hoped that ultimately cooler and wiser heads at the DOJ would prevail. My hope was not realized and whether you love or despise Comey this is five alarm fire for the state of our democracy.

Contact the Jean Cocteau Theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They might be very interested in screening the film. Feel free to contact me directly. I'm a friend of the owner.
