For: respect, reason, and compromise in politics. And Coleman Hughes, Jonathan Haidt, Phillips P. O’Brien, FIRE, FAIR, Scott Simon, the OR Coast.
Lyrics were more sedate then. "Why don't We Do it in the Road" was obviously parody. Might not be today.

Also, it's not fair to conflate Lennon or Cash singing a song in the voice of a fictional character vs someone's actual behavior in real life. Jerry Lee Lewis--fair--but compare him to P. Diddy.

Can't afford to allow the trashing of laws and norms either. I don't have the answer myself at the moment, but I'm pretty sure there are many potential and creative means--maybe even clandestine ones--of making life very difficult for the naval vessel or the tankers.

In the district next to mine, so I couldn't vote for her, but did donate. Very glad she defeated the very MAGA Joe Kent. Every seat in the House that is not Repub is better for the nation these days.

As awful and incompetent as he is, he remains in power unless or until DJT fires him or, I think, Congress impeaches him--which seems laughable given its continuing submissiveness.

Portland, Oregon, USA. Appreciate the will, strength, bravery, smarts and persistence of the Ukrainian people in the face of Putin's brutality. Wishing you and your nation well and the best possible outcome in this horrific war.

It's not credible that if DJT and President Bukele of El Salvador, whom Trump is on good terms with, wanted to correct the admin. error, they could not do so. Since when has DJT been a stickler for the most scrupulous possible observance of laws or norms, even assuming the need to stretch them?

I don't think it meets the standard your better, clear, concise, coherent posts.

Exceptionally clear and concise. Also, I appreciate that he holds out hope that we Americans will increasingly fight back against Trump's destructive erosion of our democracy in order to energetically reclaim it.

I heard that DJT is the leader of a country in which one of it's heroes said: "Give me liberty, or give me death." Also, in that nation, 1 state, New Hampshire, has as its motto: Live free or die. Maybe V.Z., who simply wants his country to be free of RU aggression, better honors American values.

I don't really get it either, but I think these are 2 factors:
1. Distrust of institutions combined with the desire to be edgy or transgressive
2. For some, an actual financial incentive; for example, selling supplements or vaccine substitutes like ivermectin, hawked as better and safer.

Don't know if it's his best for me, but agree that is excellent.

Not buying that that was close to the least bad way of ending the war.

of a few thousand non-combat troops could have kept the Afghan military well-supported with logistics and other support services that would have made a significant difference. Finally, effective evacuations/retreats that are much less chaotic and involve less loss of equipment are quite possible.

Several things. First, our allies were not informed. Second, Biden was continuing the execution of a bad deal, brokered between the U.S. and the Taliban that did not involve the Afghani government. Third, a number of military professionals I respect believe that a relatively small contingent of...

Another very good thing he did was to help protect Israel from the missile barrages sent from Iran and, thereby, lessening the need for overly aggressive Israeli responses.

I like a lot of what he did, but the end of the Afghan War was a significant negative, imo. Lebanon is a plus. Gaza has a lot of unknowns, esp. the future strength of Hamas. I also think he could have supported Ukraine more vigorously, but that, obviously, is tough one, given Putin's nukes.

"Those with money to spare could donate to organizations that work to protect public servants."

I'd consider helping. What are the best organizations for effecting this?
