So all the TikTok ban is going to do is push US citizens to become fluent in Mandarin and realize that the Chinese people are actually super nice and welcoming. What a way to backfire.

It's not about data. Our data has been stolen many times (and China could buy it). Many of us in tech assume nothing is private.
It's about money and control. Meta/X are losing marketshare and TT moderates content.
