As for a good engine, Ikemen's honestly the only good one that I know of. I wish I knew more because I too have considered messing around with making a fighting game.

This is because delta time would modify the distance traveled based on how long it took for the current frame to elapse. You cannot guarantee that a player will have a consistent framerate, so inconsistent results are bound to happen. It's a big issue if you want to build a game around frame data.

When a game is non-deterministic, you cannot guarantee that you'll get a consistent result from a scenario. Like if you did a test where you hold forward from a set starting position for exactly 20 frames and repeat a few times, the results of where you'd end up would vary.

People have looked into ways to try to achieve determinism in Godot. If this is your engine of choice, it's something to look into, especially if you want to add online multiplayer. Inconsistencies such as these could very easily cause desyncs.

Godot would be a very tricky engine to build a fighting game in because the engine is non-deterministic. Delta time gives varying results between frames, and floating point numbers for positions are inconsistent between computers. You also can't separate delta time from timers and animation players.

I do like the direction I'm taking this, but I do feel that maybe there should be some adjustments to the colors and the cloth of the dress.

I did not expect to like the green eyeshadow as much as I do.
