And I would also add this - call the voter protection hotline in PA if you see something like this happen and report it to their attention. 1-877-868-3772 (1-877-VOTES-PA) is the number to call, or you can also call at 1-833-728-6837.

I hope PA people have their phones ready in case this happens.

If the Republicans won't swear her in, it's time to get a federal judge to do so. Perhaps a lawsuit in court may force them to swear her in, assuming that they will comply with the court order - or we can get a random federal judge (usually in the state that she won) to swear her in.

I don't know, but I think we're still putting the pressure on the GOP for them to do the right thing before any legal action or a Plan B takes place.

Whoo hoo! Give her a follow, amplify her messaging, and if you can, donate to her campaign so that she can win the general on December 2nd.

Aftyn Behn Wins the Democratic Primary!

It’s official — Aftyn Behn is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Tennessee’s 7th District! 💙

This victory belongs to every volunteer, voter, and believer who knocked doors, made calls, and showed that people power still wins in Tennessee.

We do want to note however that the deadline to register for the #TN07 special election on December 2nd is Monday, November 3, 2025 - the day before the 2025 November general elections.

So those who voted in the Dem primary, we need to convince them to vote again and get new folks out to vote.

Now, we’re taking this momentum into the general — because our communities deserve a representative who fights for us, not corporate donors.

Let’s finish the job. 🗳️

And some might decide to change their mind and vote in person (early) if their mail-in ballot hasn't arrived. I think we need to have a plan B ready to go if plan A doesn't pan out.

And at this point, it could result in the filing deadline, primaries, and runoffs for Texas being pushed back further if the maps are indeed struck down.

We don't want to assume anything because the deadline to run for office (along with filing fee/signatures) is just two months from now.

Or, the other scenario could be this - bad foreign actors running the account and using that to push doom/gloom, or misinformation by flip-flopping.

Sometimes when we try to tell them to be positive, it seems to me that they don't want to admit the truth, or give half-measures that avail nothing.
mellongraig.bsky.social
Same is true for every state - we really need to get those red/non-voting states turned into purple states, and eventually blue to really show progress.

That means filling the precinct chairs, running for office, becoming a poll worker - and hey, even a volunteer/canvasser as well.
mellongraig.bsky.social
And we don't know if these who are pushing the doom and gloom are actually trolls/bots... this is part of the problem that we are contending with right now.
mellongraig.bsky.social
And not just fill those seats... we need to make sure once they run, they have the funds needed to run a real campaign. Sadly in 2024, there was way too many underfunded seats, and when they were underfunded, voters didn't hear from the candidate directly.

In both cases, we need to fix this.

Every single one of these municipal elections and more matter this week... if your state has one, get out and vote like your life depends on it!
ariellaelm.bsky.social
There are a whole lot of municipal elections this week, as well as a primary for the US House in TN-07.

We have AT LEAST two mayoral seats we can flip, so don’t sleep on this one.

Here’s the breakdown:
Mon Oct 6 - MD & MA
Tue Oct 7 - AK, AL, FL, IA, MA, NH, NC, & TN
Wed Oct 8 - MA
Sat Oct 11 - LA
Election Day is Every Tuesday 10/5-11
At least two flip opportunities!

Time for the Democratic states as well as AGs to fight back by suing in court to stop this - and get GOP state officials like Texas to comply with court orders.

I see that Illinois and Chicago have filed a lawsuit today. More reasons like this above makes us want to vote Abbott out of office.
mellongraig.bsky.social
Same goes for #IA03 where voters in that district need to defeat Zach Nunn, and in #IA02, defeat the GOP candidate that wins the primary (as well as #IASen, which could be Ashley Hinson or whoever emerges in the GOP Senate primary).

#IA04 is a longshot to flip, but hey... you never know.

It seems to be a trend that's happened all year ever since Trump has taken office - a stay, granted by SCOTUS often without explanation... rinse and repeat.

Let's hope oral arguments will begin to turn the tide, otherwise Dems need to take back Congress to investigate this and the Trump admin.
mellongraig.bsky.social
It just baffles me to say the least, but ever since the immunity case last year, it seems to me that Trump has been getting away with it more this term with the misuse of the emergency shadow docket.

Hopefully when oral arguments come later this month, the tide might begin to turn around.

I just hope that they will admit they made a mistake on voting for Trump and the GOP in 2024, and that they will agree to vote blue going forward. Better yet, I hope they'll switch party affiliation and leave the GOP by going independent, or registering as a Democrat.
mellongraig.bsky.social
And if they won't do their job, then vote them out of office by supporting the Democratic challengers (assuming they run for office and run a real campaign). Better yet, consider changing your party affiliation either to independent or Democrat, cause at this point, it'd be time to leave the GOP.

Hey Fairbanks! You have an important mayoral election this Tuesday so it's important to get out and vote - not just for mayor, but all positions up and down the ballot.

And for those who are curious as to who is challenging the Trump supporting mayor - Mindy O’Neall is the one you should support.

happening in just 3 days, btw: a Trumpian, conservative mayor who has fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents and whose comments drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives is running for reelection in Alaska's second largest city — Fairbanks.

And especially if you're a constituent of your state official, not only should we urge everyone to call, but also e-mail, meet them in person, and more.

If you're unhappy with them especially if the state official is a GOP, challenge them or reach out to your friends to consider challenging them.

While we're at it, this would also be a good time for Pennsylvanians to contact the voter protection hotline, either at 1-877-868-3772 (1-877-VOTES-PA), or 1-833-728-6837 to report it to their attention.

I hope Pennsylvanians have their phones ready in case they experience something like this.
