- The names are also part of the breeding mechanics... So for example, a fish named Pineapple can have a child named Banana... or the child can be named Pineapple Jr.... and the grandchild could end up as Pineapple the Third. (Suffixes added automatically up to the 10th!)

Working on a fishtank option for my desktop pet fish game itsy bitsy fishy <3
The fishtank looks so simple but it took me so many tries over a couple days to get it to look just right and match the style of the fishbowl too!

A peek at my spaghetti code! The baby fish randomly inherits traits from its parents, with a chance to inherit recessive genes. It will also become a carrier of its parents' recessive genes. There's also a chance to mutate and get a random color. #godot

How I animated the tennis balls in #godot - all tweens! Here's part of my garbage spaghetti code 🤭 Lots of position checks to make the ball bounce away from window edges. Bounce sound is played each time the ball "lands". Rotation is slowed after each bounce.

How I implemented the magic 8 ball in #godot - It was initially ridiculously large so that I could fit the pixel font for "YES" and "NO". So I put that text on a separate sprite so I can scale it separately. The highlight is on a separate sprite so it doesn't rotate along w/ the ball while rolling.

How I implemented clothing in #godot - Each clothing item has a spritesheet image perfectly aligned w/ the kitten's spritesheet. Clothing can be changed by swapping the spritesheet texture. Each time the kitten's animation frame is changed, the clothing animation frame is changed.
