CONTRIBUTOR SPOTLIGHT Merch Artist: Quartz Contributor Bio: There is always more to the eye than we can see with Mel and that is something I appreciated right from the start and still do whenever we learn new bits and pieces of her. Just the right amount of mysterious to lure me in. Her upbringing, her family, how big her heart is and how much of her rebellion (against her mother) is rooted in that. That she is much more than just a politician. Her relationship with her mother and how difficult it is to not meet your mothers expectations yet be all she sees. The complicated back and forth. How it hurts deep down to be a mothers daughter at times. But despite all the hardships she stays true to herself. She doesn't lose her empathy, doesn't think of herself as weak but instead sees strength in it. Also love me some gold!

Her stubbornness in her ideals, seeking every way in which she can remain true to herself and her beliefs, and at the same time, her capacity for change and the way in which she doesn't refuse the notion that she has to adapt. The shields she puts around herself, while still unable to stop being loving and caring about others even to her own detriment. She's clever and strong, but she's also gentle and idealistic. There's so many layers to her that still hold one truth: how compassionate she is, and how that reflects in her desire for peace more than anything else.
