I’ve been cleaning out closets all day. Apparently, all that cleaning was exhausting.

My friend’s husband made a warm space for an opossum hanging out near the home and he is also leaving it cat food. I cannot help but love this man for his kindness. Winters are very hard on opossums, and this winter is especially hard.

It’s been a while since I have seen a Rough-legged Hawk. Not uncommon in this area in winter, but I don’t see them often. Pretty bird. #birds #birding

What does a pet owner do when it is -3 outside and you don’t want to take your dogs for a walk in the freezing cold? You take them on a snifari at a local pet store

I lost my mom today. She was 90 years old. We almost lost her at 80, but she fought hard 2 recover & made it. Alzheimer’s tried to take her memory, but she remembered us all until the end. She made me go to college even tho she lost my dad & had 3 kids still at home. She was my biggest cheerleader.

Buy your National Park Pass in December to avoid having to look at this all next year.

I love seeing so many swans around. When I was kid they were a rarity to see. #birds #birding

It was such a delight to see a Northern Shrike soaking up the sun yesterday. #birds #birding

What a treat to see a flock of Rusty Blackbirds on my walk today. This is just one of them. I also saw a Kestrel, eagles, many green-winged Teals, Wastern Bluebirds and a Northern Shrike. #birds #birding

The setting sun lit up the trees in orange. So lovely. A good way to end the day yesterday.

Here are the Sandhill Cranes I saw. Poor lighting due to the sun going down.

You never know what you will see while walking along the river… two Sandhill Cranes, dozens of White-throated Sparrows, or a beaver sitting silently in the water, staring back at you for what seems like forever. Judgey beaver. 😁
Here he is a little later, swimming around.
