Game design holds meaning and even with story heavy games, the gameplay should elevate and be interwoven into the narrative to create a cohesive work. Story and gameplay cannot be taken separately imo

Like we can even see it with the categories for The Game Awards lol there’s nothing for best level design, best combat system or anything gameplay related really and I don’t think the genre categories cover it tbh
