To get a better idea of what might be coming down the pipeline (pun intended) it is better to know what happened in the past during similar situations. So basically studying ice core data and geological evidence.

We are not even fighting, we are still growing the economy. Also there's 10C warming in the pipeline with current emissions according to Hansen's report.

I have been using it for maybe 7-8 years and haven't had any problems. Although I am careful with what sites I visit and files I download. I remember reading somewhere that Windows Defender became more effective than most other antivirus software, but don't quote me on that.

You don't need to purchase antivirus if you are using Windows as it comes with Windows Defender for free, and that works great.

Most people are life affirming and will not bow out gracefully, even when the odds are stacked against them to the stratosphere. It's going to be mayhem when it finally sinks in.

The problem is we're already in a trap. If we stop consuming and growing, the system collapses, and many people suffer and die. The same thing happens if we continue growing, except it doesn't happen today, we are deferring the inevitable.

This is really a tough choice. With the climate crisis and ecological overshoot, there will be millions more refugees in the future. Taking them all in is impossible, and could threaten the stability of various countries. Clearly this isn't an ideal world, and we have to make these choices.
