They actually shot them on film but scanned them to video for post fx/editing. They could do it but it would be time consuming and expensive since they would have to redo the FX

Not a fan of AI “art” unfortunately as it displaces artists and disrespects human creativity. Also, most of the ones made for Star Trek look weird
