BTW That photo of the General Anton Dostler execution was the first War Criminal executed, before Nuremburg, where hanging was used (badly). It was in Aversa in Italy, where he used the defence after summarily executing 15 US OSS POW there after a Military Tribunal. Watch out Hegseth!

There are reasons for doing so, ie an undercover police officer (a real one) taking part in a raid, to be kept anonymous. This is not that. These aren't police though they wear velcro patches saying they are. They often wear fake patches that look a bit like police shields too...

Exactly. England with laws that date back to Alfred the Great (and earlier), might have statues of him, but there is no cult of Alfred, just an acceptance that our law is based on more than a thousand years of legal precedence. The US system is built on this, not the men who declared independence.

The main difference, being that Germany in the '20s had been on the verge of civil war, and Hitler seemed to be "solving" some problems by scapegoating the other. Trump however took a reasonably stable nation, and divided it as much as he could to create those "others" & sew unrest.

Exactly. After Pearl Harbour, they still had to spend half a day debating & voting before declaring war. The UK and I believe Canada both declared war on Japan before the US did because of this.

The Normans didn't "Colonise" England. They took it over. The common people didn't change much beyond a lot of Earls and nobles & 1 king being replaced, with some legal changes. It was not the same as stealing the Native American land, killing them & replacing the population almost completely.
