For the past two weekends I have been showing my art in outdoor art festivals In California and Arizona.

Many people would apologize to me once they found out I’m Cdn.
Or
They would ask why I’m here considering how Cdns are not being very nice to the US lately.

Probably the most beautiful location for an art fair in the US. La Quinta Art Celebration

I’m showing art this week La Quinta Art Celebration in California. Everyone I meet, who finds out I’m Cdn, asks how Cdns are doing with the current mayhem. Nobody knows, or cares, about the issues with Canada. They are watching their world in chaos. Tariffs are their last issue to deal with.

Every time I poke my head out of the studio I turn around and hide again.
I keep saying to myself “just go back and make art”.
Look for the light.

Trump’s entourage wants to impose an archaic vision of gender on America, @sophiegilbert.bsky.social writes. The plan won’t just harm women—it will destroy a generation of men, too.

Just a heartbreaking story when there is no choice.
In 2023, ProPublica reported how Mayron Hollis faced a life-threatening pregnancy under Tennessee’s abortion ban. A photographer and reporter then continued to follow the family for a year.

This is their story.

She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Just was sent this by my daughter who’s traveling in Budapest.
She was fined, on the bus, for drinking mulled wine.
Lots of rules in Hungary.

With the end of the year on the horizon I’m thinking about what’s next?
What to create?

Should artists create pieces they think will sell? Or take the risk to make a new series?

This is always the debate.
