Starman is indeed one of the best of the 90s - the last story arc (like the last story arc of Sandman) drags a bit in monthly installments, but indisputably a brilliant piece of work.

I am no longer shocked by the lies of this government but I am still shocked by how many regular people parrot the false narrative despite video evidence to the contrary. I shouldn't still be shocked by this, but for some reason I am.

this is literally me in every business I've ever worked in corporate America - people complain, I see the simple solution and people wig out mainly, I think, bc I'm threatening their ability to complain, which it seems to me people love more than actually solving things.

Warlord was an incredible series - the Grell art was amazing and I was in high school playing D&D at the time and was the prime target audience.... after about 50 issues or so, and in college (and broke) it was one that I had to drop but good memories. I should do a re-read. :)

We found it delightful from start to finish - the finale was hilarious and we LOVED the lead actress in Orphan Black. Sometimes people complain just to make themselves heard in the world.

for me, the whole glasses story was trying to over-explain something that didn't need explaining - as a comic book reader, I accept that the normal Clark Kent disguise works - it's like the convention of a flying man or a guy dressed as a bat-- it's not the real world, I just accept it and enjoy it.

for some reason, that is just cute - like I never thought that was weird..whereas the glasses thing seems like a reach and even I who grew up reading DC in the 70s found that particular story to be a bit much.

My favorite WTF Superman lore is that his glasses "project" a version of himself as weak/thin to everyone that sees him as Clark. It was a one and done story in the late 70s that they never mention again although Guy refers to it in the 2025 Superman movie (It's a good laff for those who know)

thanks! I forgot all about him completely- but that's because as much as I wanted to love Young All Stars at the time, I just couldnt get into it.

who is that in the air behind Superman?

forward to Ep3 frankly but it IS much better than the other 2 - much more straightforward plot and the big finale which is admittedly pretty spectacular - they just shoulda jettisoned the romance - it's cringey and seems to get worse every time I've seen it.

also: the continuity nerd in me screams "Owen Lars owned Threepio in Ep2 but doesnt' recognize him 20 years later in Ep4?".... grrr... although the Fett family stuff is good

honestly, rewatching this last night, Anakin is such a creeper that I would believe it if it was canon that he forced her to fall for him - that would track so much better than.... what we see in the actual movie

we decided to do a SW rewatch and just saw this last night - ugh. anything with Anakin and Padme is so awful - she tries so hard to make it watchable but him... just ugh.

in detached, dry Willy Wonka voice 'no, stop, come back'
