Rebuilding my social media experience for thoughtful connection as we endure the next four years of shenanigans.
I did too and thank goodness they have not been emailing me nonstop!

I like the idea. Why does it require a petition?

As an American, I was shocked when on Feb 13 an ad sponsored by AFD appeared in my Facebook feed following a Reuters story about an incident in Munich. We cannot underestimate how our attention to social media (even BlueSky) is being used as a tool in international politics.

Didn’t the DeepSeek news come out last week? Super slow reaction time from the market. Smells off…

Whoops- just learned that there’s no edit button here! Excuse typos and also it’s a three part post. Sigh. If you are also reimagining your online life, what are you doing? I’m thinking sub stack. I’m thinking Skylight photo album instead of photo sharing widely, I’m thinking non-habitual use.

2/2 As I consider how to derive value from it and drop a match on what no longer serve, I’m wistful for what I’ll leave behind and thankful for a mindset that is OK with reinvention and iteration. I have some ideas on how to create go-to information sources while shielding myself from outrage.

Library kid, too. Didn’t have a bike. Had to walk there in the stifling humidity of a small town in Louisiana. Can still picture every row and stack in that place. Always snuck into the Genealogy room to read because it was cordoned off and had better furniture.
