A good crowd this evening @esbcongress.bsky.social opening ceremony. So nice to see many friendly faces

Definitely worth pointing out in response, and even reporting if "no ai" is part of the review policy (not sure if this is paper or grant...)

Yes!! I've signed up to help with open day on Saturday so I can be 100% sure that Monday next week will be very confusing!!

Yes! I usually start chasing at 5 or 6 months wait
mengomarlene.bsky.social
While I thought it was much longer, my data says longest was 9 months (the revised version then took another 7 months, hence my recollection of a long wait); shortest 3 weeks. Median (N=36) is 3 months

Look at that weird joint asymmetry - caused us a bit of a headache!!

I agree indeed that the CV and capacity to deliver are not the same thing and hence CV (narrative or not) is not useful. The fact that in TFS, the section for narrative CV is called "applicant and team capability to deliver", is laughable
mengomarlene.bsky.social
Interesting view. I've seen the opportunity in a narrative CV (writing and reviewing) to tailor information, providing specific evidence of the capacity to deliver a project (highlighting aspects of experience which is not obvious to state in a traditional CV) alongside being a broad researcher.

I missed Tom's unfortunately but Kay presented some great data on subsidence!!

Amazed by seeing patient names and dob when surgeons use x-ray views of patients on conference slides. @britspine.bsky.social, wondering if it is worth reminding presenters about confidentiality (or nobody reads instructions anyway)...

Tagging @britspine.bsky.social ! Little #biomechanics this year but a great programme nevertheless

This week, the team is in Manchester for #BritSpine2025 www.linkedin.com/posts/marlen... a great opportunity to present lab work to a much clinical audience

Latest paper is the first from my #EPSRC @ukri.org NIA presenting a methodology to evaluate facet joint #biomechanics with evidence that aged ovine #spine model for method development was not the best idea but literature led us to believe it was doi.org/10.1016/j.jb...

On the same story, crosscountry trains are very poorly designed: I always end up with terrible upper back pain when I travel with them!!!

I got lucky: I travelled to Swansea for a viva planned tomorrow. I asked the University to book accommodation for me, asking for 1 night on Wednesday 4th... which obviously does not exist, and the room was booked for yesterday. 1 room left at the hotel, and they only asked for the price difference!

A misty Moor today at Ikley!
View of a gritstone quarry, from the top, where nothing can be seen beyond the rocks because of mist. Forefront of brown heather from the moor
