And its propagated by tech-bros, a group famously known for respecting consent. No wait, disregard of consent, thats it. And ive seen too many creators outside of the tech sphere just give into and then spread the same argument. And just that quickly my support for them ends as well.

I always hated this pro-ai argument, and it literally just hit me why. And this might be my "too woke" take. They argue that "its going to happen so we should just accept it" "Nothing is going to stop it" "we should ignore the people refusing it"

I also dont think we get an end to the fight. Just an introduction. In the same way that this retelling of Mega Man 1-3(ish) isn't the end of the story. (Thanks Mega Man 11)

But now, he is taking direct action, for once he isn't passive about this fight. This sets us up for the parallel fights of Thomas and Albert but also The City no longer weighed down by chains of Light vs the forces of The Night.

To answer your last question, martyrdom maybe, but this is also the first time Thomas is taking direct action. Everything he did was by proxy, Robots to be the work force, Joe, Blues, Rock. Thomas died before Fate, before Good Dr. P2, probably in between Emily and Joe.

All of your logic is sound, and I think you are right. I just hope that you aren't. I interpret some things differently than you, and if I was better with words I could explain my perspective. But thats also the best part of media like this. We can see the same picture but perceive different things.

I dont, however, think we are getting resolution. No matter how much Thomas's despair dragged him and those around him down, there was always an unkillable hope in those around. I hold that same hope that there is more still in Act 3.

There are so many questions left unanswered. I dont think we are going to get a pretty bow on the end of the story, but I do think the album is going to end with a conflict. The Fight references Thomas's passing, it fits as a subsequent track. And maybe we get Built to Last as a "credits" song.
