honestly for hong ye that's the GOOD ending, because otherwise he's forcefully turned into a yao with his human memories erased so he can "hate humans" and "atone for his crimes against yao." the crimes he only committed bc yao slaughtered all his loved ones, but I guess nobody cares about that

This show takes Mary Sue-ism to new heights, not only because multiple male characters are in love with the female lead, but also because 99.9% OF THE CAST ARE TERRIBLE PEOPLE so that she looks saintly in comparison. I'm not sure how 2000s era ff.net writing is happening in 2026, but here we are.
